Harper Collins are one of the world’s leading publishers, who pride themselves on providing the highest quality content across a wide spectrum of media, including fiction, non-fiction and online platforms.


Their Translation Challenge

Harper Collins approached Kwintessential to partner them in bidding for large multilingual tenders and to assist them with the translation and localisation of children’s books. This also included related media materials including apps and marketing materials.


Our Translation Solution

In order to meet Harper Collins’ specific requirements, Kwintessential created a dedicated team of specialist translators experienced in translating and localising children’s literature, working in tandem with a small team of graphic designers to handle all typesetting and artwork. A briefing process was formed with the client in order to capture the creative goals of the localisation process.


Recent Projects

Most recently we have worked with Harper Collins on a series of localisations of apps and competition materials which were created as a result of the success of “The Hobbit” film franchise.

The brief was to localise these apps for the French, German, Italian and Spanish markets. To achieve this, Kwintessential put together a team of translators and proof readers with an extensive knowledge of “The Hobbit” so as to ensure that the new translations matched the style, tone and terminology of the existing translated versions of the book and film.
