What exactly is on-line tuition?
Online language tuition is merely a new way to learn or improve your language skills through the internet rather than at a school or college. Using the internet, learners are able to interact with language teachers to either learn a language from scratch or improve upon existing language skills.
Are lessons only written?
Lessons can be aim to improve writing, grammar, spelling or sentence structure in which case written correspondence is suitable. However, using certain technologies lessons can be both audio and/or visual in which case lessons would operate as if they were face-to-face.
Why would I not just enrol at a college or take lessons face-to-face?
Many people do and if this suits your personality and lifestyle then this indeed may be a favourable option. However, some people may feel shy in large classrooms, feel as though they do not get enough attention from a teacher, may not be able to commit to regular lessons, may live a great distance from the nearest college and many parents would not feel comfortable sending children out in the evening.
Online language tuition provides the learner with lessons when and where they want, cutting out all the complications. The security, flexibility and cost effectiveness of online language tuition appeals to many people.
Does it work?
A simple answer to this would be that if it did not work companies such as ours would not provide the service. Clients keep coming back and new clients are always joining, demonstrating that online tuition does work.
What if I do not like my tutor?
We will change them for you until you are 100% happy.
Can I share my lesson with someone else?
All our prices are for private, one-to-one lessons. If however another person wants to join the lesson, including parents, an additional charge is made of half the hourly rate.
How long do lessons last?
Unlike face-to-face lessons, online language lessons last 60 minutes per lesson. Only the first lesson is shortened to 30 minutes in order to reclaim our administrative costs.
Can I take the lessons whenever I want?
To an extent the answer is yes. Online language tuition provides you with the flexibility to take your lessons when you want. However, there is an expiry limit with your lessons. Blocks of lessons must be used up within a period in weeks equal to three times the number of lessons. Therefore a batch of five lessons must be used up within 15 weeks of payment
What do I need in terms of equipment?
All you need is your computer, an internet connection, a microphone and/or a webcam (some come with built in microphones).

Should my computer have any particular specifications?
In addition the items mentioned above you should have a PC with:
Minimum 90 MHz pentium processor
For Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me, 16 megabytes (MB) of RAM
For Microsoft Windows NT, 24 megabytes (MB) of RAM
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 or later
An internet connection with 28kbps modem or faster
How do I pay?
All lessons must be paid for prior to any lessons commencing. Once you have sent us an e-mail via our booking form, we will send you details of how to pay. The most common methods are cheque, bank transfers or via PayPal.
