About
This blog is designed to provide the reader with up to date news and commentary from the world of international and intercultural business. The blog will focus in particular on those news stories and developments which reflect the apparently ever growing volume of business being done across national, ethnic and cultural borders.
It will include headline news, articles from publications specialising in the field and the latest academic thought on the affect of globalising processes on business. Not to mention my own views and opinions. It will also feature posts on how companies are adapting to face the challenges of doing business in the 21st Century, where the need for cultural awareness and understanding stands equal to the need for cultural awareness training, translation and interpreting services if success is to be achieved. Here it will not only be large multinational organisations which are considered but also those small and medium enterprises which, even if not trading beyond the boundaries of their own country, are now employing workforces comprising a range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds due to the increased fluidity of labour markets.
I shall do my best to provide updates on a daily basis to keep you fully informed about what’s new in this area of great and growing importance for anyone involved in business and business practice. I trust you will find this blog to be both informative and absorbing, and that the content will stimulate some worthwhile debate of the issues at hand.
