Always had confusions with my American ex about this one:
Lucked in vs Lucked out.

American – Lucked out = to be lucky
UK – Lucked out = to run out of luck as opposed to:
UK – Lucked in = to be lucky.

I noticed the entry and thought it worth clarification:

I’d have phrased it as “Suspenders (USA = straps worn to hold up a man’s trousers). In the US, braces are orthodontic metal devices used to straighten one’s teeth. A simple Google Image search will turn up three and a half pages of these before even one alternate picture-definition emerges — and that one is not a set of trouser-suspending devices, but rather, a knee brace.
