Globally Speaking: Communicating Across Technology
Communicating Across Technology is the third in the Globally Speaking series. This documentary and dramatization offers trainees with an insight into the role culture plays when communication takes place across technological frontiers.
Businesses increasingly require clear lines of communication between staff working internationally. Face to face meetings are rare; much of the time interaction is conducted through communication medium such as telephone, email and video conferencing. However, when people from differing cultures have differing rules, processes, expectations, assumptions and norms it is easy for misunderstandings to occur. It is these misunderstandings that can and do lead to poor business performance.
This first class production blending both documentary and dramatization styles addresses common areas of cross cultural problems for business personnel when communicating at distance. Through visually being presented with scenarios, trainees can come to understand and discuss how things go wrong and how to put them right.
Communicating Across Cultures is a great tool for business personnel, HR staff and intercultural trainers who can all apply it in different ways.
