Black Cultural Center supports, enhances diversity
Established in 1969, Purdue's Black Cultural Center is recognized and acknowledged by the Association of Black Cultural Centers as one of the best centers of its kind. Director Renee Thomas says the center helps the community gain a greater understanding of African-American heritage and supports and enhances cultural diversity in the community. The center does a cultural arts series each fall semester and is the home of four performing arts ensembles -- the Black Voices of Inspiration, Haraka Writers, Jahari Dance Troupe and the New Directional players.http://news.uns.purdue.edu/x/2008b/08...
