Hosting Global Guests
Course Overview
This course is appropriate for anyone who is involved with the organisation and delivery of international corporate events. Specifically looking at how to host international guests, the course aims to assist people understand better how to tailor their events to suit the requirements of people from different cultures.
Topics we cover include welcoming guests, what food can/can’t be eaten, serving food, dress codes and dealing with the unexpected. No organisation that regularly entertains can afford to make a bad impression.
Course Objectives
At this program's conclusion, participants should be able to:
- Explain the importance of a good first impression and how to make one with differing cultures
- Work through different cultures’ expectations of corporate events
- Describe appropriate dress for both hosts and front-of-house staff
- Demonstrate how to assemble a proper table setting
- Understand proxemics across cultures
- Appreciate dietary requirements in different cultures
- Make any guest of the organization feel welcome
